Sliders make perfect finger food for cocktail parties or any gathering where you don’t intend to serve a sit-down meal.

This time, I made the Prime Beef Sliders with ground beef for an Academy Awards afternoon get-together. They were a huge hit. Prime rib works fantastically, too. In either case, the horseradish mayonnaise really elevates the taste of these mini burgers.
For the optional cheese, I prefer a sharp Canadian cheddar. It is loaded with flavor and melts beautifully.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds of ground prime beef
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons granulated garlic
- 2 teaspoons ground onion powder
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons of sea salt
- 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup real mayonnaise
- 1 heaping teaspoon of prepared grated horseradish
- 8 ounces of cheddar cheese (optional)
- 16-18 slider buns or dinner rolls
Instructions
- Mix the mayonnaise and horseradish together in a small bowl and refrigerate.
- In a glass bowl, mix the beef, mustard, garlic, onion, oregano, salt, and pepper. Roll and flatten the seasoned meat into 4-inch patties.
- Grill the meat to the desired temperature, about 4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Top the sliders with the cheese slices during the last minute of cooking.
- Brush the slider buns, toasted on the grill or not, with the horseradish mayonnaise, assemble the sliders, and serve.
