Almond Nut Cake Recipe

- 1 Electric Mixer or Hand Whisk
- 1 Manual Nuts Mill (for coarsely ground almonds)
- 1 Measuring Cups and Spoons
- 1 Sifter
- 1 Spatula or Wooden Spoon
- 1 Baking Pan
- 1 Parchment Paper
- 1 Oven
- 1 Kitchen Timer
- 1 Butter or Oil for Greasing
Ingredients
- 6 ounces Flour
- 6 ounces Sugar
- 5 ounces Vegetable Oil
- 3 eggs Eggs
- 1.5 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 4 tablespoons Coarsely Ground Almonds
- ¼ teaspoons Almond Essence:
- ⅛ teaspoons Vanilla Essence
- ½ cup Sliced Almonds
Instructions
Get Ready
- Preheat your oven to 200°C.
- Line your baking pan with parchment paper and give it a good grease with oil or butter.
Mix Dry Stuff
- In one bowl, sift together 1 ⅓ cups of flour and 1.5 teaspoons of baking powder.
Mix Wet Stuff
- In another bowl, beat together ¾ cup of sugar and ¾ cup of vegetable oil for about 2 minutes.
- Add 3 eggs, one at a time, and mix well after each.
Add Almonds and Flavor
- Stir in 4 tablespoons of coarsely ground almonds, ¼ teaspoon of almond essence, and ⅛ teaspoon of vanilla essence.
Fold in the Flour Mix
- Gradually add the flour and baking powder mix to the wet mix. Fold it in gently with a spatula or wooden spoon.
Into the Pan
- Pour the batter into your prepared baking tray.
Top It Off
- Sprinkle ½ cup of sliced almonds on top. They'll get toasty in the oven, adding a nice crunch.
Bake Away
- Pop it in the oven at 200°C for 25-30 minutes. Stick a skewer in – if it comes out with moist crumbs, you're good to go. If using a larger pan, bake for 35-40 minutes.
